কেন্দ্রে ইউক্রেন অপারেটর এনারগোটম শনিবার বলেছে, রাশিয়ান সৈন্যরা গতকাল দিনব্যাপী ‘একের পর এক রকেট’ হামলা চালিয়েছে।
এনারগোটম এক টেলিগ্রামে বলেছে,‘পর্যায়ক্রমিক গোলাগুলির ফলে, স্টেশনের অবকাঠামো ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে, হাইড্রোজেন লিক হওয়ার ঝুঁকি রয়েছে এবং তেজস্ক্রিয় পদার্থ ছড়িয়ে পড়ার ঝুঁকি রয়েছে এবং আগুনের উচ্চ ঝুঁকি রয়েছে।’
সংস্থাটি বলেছে শনিবার (গ্রীনিচ মান সময় ০৯০০টায়) মধ্যাহ্ন পর্যন্ত তারা প্লান্টটির ‘বিকিরণ এবং অগ্নি নিরাপত্তা মান লঙ্ঘনের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে কাজ করেছে।’
রাশিয়ার প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় অবশ্য বলেছে যে ইউক্রেনীয় বাহিনী ডিনিপ্রো নদীর ওপারের মার্গানেট শহর থেকে ‘পরমাণু কেন্দ্রের এলাকায় তিনবার গোলা বর্ষণ করেছে’।
রাশিয়ান মন্ত্রণালয় কিয়েভকে ‘পারমাণবিক সন্ত্রাস’ হিসেবে অভিযুক্ত করেছে এবং বলেছে যে তাজা শেলগুলি পারমাণবিক জ্বালানী এবং তেজস্ক্রিয় বর্জ্য সংরক্ষণের জায়গাগুলির কাছে আঘাত হেনেছে।
মন্ত্রনালয়ের বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়েছে, প্লাান্টে বিকিরণের মাত্রা ‘স্বাভাবিক রয়েছে’।
প্লান্টে লিক হওয়ার আশঙ্কা থেকে বিকিরণ ঝুঁকি কমাতে মঙ্গলবার পাওয়ার প্লান্ট থেকে ৪৫ কিলোমিটার (২৯ মাইল) উত্তর-পূর্বে খোর্টিটস্কি জেলার বাসিন্দাদের আয়োডিন পিল দেওয়া হয়েছে।

Risk of radiation spillage from shelling near Zaporizhia nuclear power plant
KYIV, Ukraine, Aug 28, 2022 (BASS DESK): Ukraine and Russia accused each other of fresh shelling at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant on Saturday, prompting the plant’s Ukrainian operator to warn of the risk of radioactive fallout.
The Zaporizhia plant in southern Ukraine has been occupied by Russian forces since early March.
Kiev and Moscow have repeatedly blamed each other for rocket attacks around the plant, Europe’s largest, located in the city of Energodar.
In the center, the Ukrainian operator Energotom said on Saturday that Russian troops fired “one rocket after another” throughout the day.
“As a result of periodic shelling, the station’s infrastructure has been damaged, there is a risk of hydrogen leaks and radioactive material spillage, and there is a high risk of fire,” Energotom said in a telegram.
The agency said as of midday Saturday (0900 GMT) it had dealt with the plant’s “risk of breaching radiation and fire safety standards.”
Russia’s Defense Ministry, however, said Ukrainian forces “fired three rounds into the area of the nuclear power plant” from the town of Marganet across the Dnipro River.
The Russian ministry accused Kiev of “nuclear terrorism” and said fresh shells had hit nuclear fuel and radioactive waste storage sites.
The ministry’s statement said radiation levels at the plant “remain normal”.
Residents of Khortytsky district, 45 kilometers (29 miles) northeast of the power plant, were given iodine pills on Tuesday to reduce radiation risks from a suspected leak at the plant.
Residents near the plant told AFP they received iodine pills earlier this month.
