You may be surprised to hear. How did Priyanka get involved in the film that has been made, even got nominated for Oscar? The answer is that the internationally renowned actress has joined the film as an executive producer rather than acting. ‘To Kill a Tiger’ is basically the story of a farmer named Ranjit from Jharkhand, India. In 2017, her 13-year-old daughter Kiran was gang-raped. After surviving the incident, the father fought for justice for his daughter.
To Kill a Tiger:
In an Instagram post about joining the documentary, Priyanka Chopra said, “I am proud to be joining the Academy Award nominated team of ‘To Kill a Tiger’. At the same time, I also announce that this film will be served worldwide by Netflix. When I first saw this film in 2022, I loved it. I was impressed by her father’s heroic fight with the legal system to get justice for his daughter.”
Priyanka also has a personal feeling with this film. He said, ‘This wonderful picture touched me in many ways, but personally, I myself was born in Jharkhand and brought up in the house of a father who was always a winner. As a result, seeing the picture broke my heart. Can’t wait to show the film to the audience.
‘To Kill a Tiger’ was released in New York in October last year. It is produced by Nisha Pahuja. Rupi Kaur, Atul Gawande, Andy Cohen, Anita Lee, Shivani Rawat, Anita Bhatia are also executive producers of the film.
