Uzzal hossain: The Bangladesh Third Class Government Employees’ Association has demanded an 60% increase in the salaries of government employees for the interim period until the new national pay scale is provided.
The demand was made at a press conference of the association at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters’ Unity on Saturday. In a written statement at the press conference, it was said that after the last national pay scale was given in 2015, the prices of daily necessities including gas, electricity, water and medical expenses have been increasing abnormally in the last 7 (seven) years.
Providing a new national pay scale is essential for a normal life.The leaders will issue a memorandum to the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on May 24, 2022 to implement their demands. From 26th May, to 09th June, 2022, in various departments / institutions, administrative departments and districts of the capital, in support of the demands of the employees and if the demands are not implemented, on 11th June, 2022, a human chain program will be held in front of the National Press Club. Secretary General of the Association Md. Saljar Rahman read out a written statement at the press conference.
