How to tell if vegetables are dyed

Lifestyle Desk:  When buying vegetables in the market, many people are fascinated by the colorless vegetables. The bright color of the vegetables makes them look fresh, like they have just been picked from the field. And everyone buys them just because of this. Later, when they bring them home, they find that the inside of the vegetables is not good at all, and sometimes some people even buy rotten vegetables thinking they are fresh.

Not only fruits, but vegetables can also be adulterated. Because vegetables are sold with dyes applied to them. The vegetables that we use the most in our daily lives are potatoes, onions, etc. You will be surprised to know that they can also be adulterated in the same way.

The method of understanding the color of each vegetable is different. However, not all vegetables can be dyed. According to various experts, it is difficult to dye onions. Because the outer skin of onions is very thin. However, adulteration is mixed in onion powder. The way to catch it is different, of course.

When potatoes go bad, dark spots appear inside them. These spots extend to the outside. Potato traders cover it with soil. From the outside, it looks like it has just been brought to the market from the field. But if you shake off the soil, you can tell if it is adulterated or not. Seeing a bright red sweet potato makes many people’s mouths water. However, the red color of that red potato can also be artificial. How do you know?

In this case, take some water in a bowl, soak a cotton ball in it and rub the cotton ball on the sweet potato. If the red color comes out, the screen is leaking. If not, it is a pure potato.

Soak a cotton ball or cloth in liquid paraffin. Now rub it on the green skin of the vegetable. If the color comes out after rubbing, it is adulterated. If the color does not come out, it is not adulterated, it is a pure vegetable.
