More than 1500 flights canceled due to storm in Northeast US

New York, July 17 Online Desk: More than 1500 flights have been canceled due to the storm in the northeastern part of the United States on Sunday evening.

The Federal Aviation Administration says thunderstorms and heavy rain have caused major flight disruptions at major airports in New York and New Jersey.

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey alone reported 362 flight cancellations and 337 flight delays, according to flight tracking site FlightAware.
At John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, 318 flights were canceled and 426 flights were delayed. 270 flights were canceled at the city’s other airport, La Guardia.
Meanwhile, 260 flights have been canceled at Boston Logan International Airport, according to FlightAware.

56 million people in the northeastern United States are at risk of severe flooding. Because of the heavy rains in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland, flash floods and power outages occur.
