I have been working with the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community) for 20 years. I have always said one thing, LGBT people are not asking for something different. Rather, they want the rights that every citizen of India gets.

Expressing confidence in the lawmakers, Celina Jaitley said, ‘Right to marriage, right to a family is an important right of any human being. So I hope the Special Marriage Act will be updated in Parliament to eliminate gender discrimination.

In the judgment, the court said that they do not have the power to validate such marriages. Rather, Parliament has the power to make laws. Selina sees this statement of the court positively.
