First bowler Lin’s record

Online Desk: Lord’s, 28 June 2023: Australia’s spinner Nathan Lin also made a rare record as the first bowler to play 100 consecutive Test matches.

Lin also became the owner of the record by playing the second Test of the Ashes series between England and Australia starting today at Lord’s.
Lin became the sixth cricketer in the world and the third player from Australia to reach the milestone of 100 consecutive Test matches. However, as the first bowler in the T20I, Lin also owns this record.

Before this, 100 or more consecutive Tests have been played for the country – England’s Alastair Cook, Australia’s Alan Border-Mark Waugh, India’s Sunil Gavaskar, New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum. All of them were genuine batters.

Lee has 495 wickets in 121 Tests for Australia. If he takes 5 wickets in the Lord’s Test, Lin will become the eighth and third Australian to take 500 wickets in the T20.
Late spinner Shane Warne took 708 wickets in 145 matches and pacer Glenn McGrath took 563 wickets in 124 matches for Australia.
